I'm an Athlete, Wife, and Mother to 5 children, 2 dogs,
4 cows, and 30 chickens living in Raleigh, N.C.

Throughout my life, I’ve loved swimming, rowing, and competing. I was fortunate to earn a place on the US National Rowing Team from 1999-2002 and competed in the US Women’s National Team World Championships in 2001 in Lucerne, Switzerland, among other international competitions. After my rowing career ended, I kept competing and pivoted to triathlons. I’m partial to Olympic distance and half-Ironman's. In the process, I qualified for the World Championships in the 1/2 Ironman and qualified for the US Nationals in both Sprint and Olympic distances in 2013. In 2014, I solely raced Olympic Distance, which qualified me to race at the World Championship in Edmonton, Canada that year, where I placed 8th.

Despite my active nature, I’ve struggled with health issues from disordered eating, asthma, severe depression, and anxiety, to brain fog, joint inflammation, and insomnia. I've suffered from chronic low back pain, shoulder impingement, hamstring tendinopathy, pelvic floor dysfunction, and diastasis.

During that time, I was on an array of prescription medications that (sometimes) took care of the symptoms, but created other issues that doctors couldn’t (or wouldn’t) address. I was frustrated with the healthcare system’s lack of empathy and Western medicine’s reliance on pharmaceuticals to treat the symptoms but not the cause. So, I began a personal journey of healing my chronic pain and conditions through nutrition and lifestyle modifications.

After completing my training and certification through the Integrative Health Practitioner Institute, I founded Elevate Wellness to help others achieve the health benefits that our healthcare system typically overlooks. I look forward to learning about your challenges and supporting you on your journey to elevate your wellness.

“Raising five children requires a LOT of energy – physically, mentally, and spiritually. In order to find and harness that energy, I had to prioritize my health. Now, I’m eager to help others do the same.”
